Thorn Range, Dunstable (LU5 6JQ)
Thorn Range closed on the 19th March 2017 to make way for the development of a new ‘Distribution Centre’. The BSSA are working with the Central Bedfordshire Council to develop a replacement facility.
Located just off the A5 north of Dunstable, Thorn Range caters for Small-bore Rifle and, subject to muzzle velocity and energy restrictions, .17HMR, Gallery (pistol calibre) Rifle and Muzzle Loaded Pistols and Rifles shooting at distances up to 100yds.
The range has 48 firing points, 9 of these are closed in during the winter months to provide a warmer environment for short range shooting on winter evenings.
There is also a 4 point 10 metre indoor .177 airgun range, with automatic target changers.
The Club room offers catering facilities and all facilities are disabled friendly.
